The archives contain company information from several American watch and clock companies, collections of advertisements and postcards featuring timepieces, and the papers of prominent horologists. With more than 30,000 books, catalogs, and periodicals, the Library and Research Center’s resources are used to document timepieces around the world. The library specializes in reference services. The library’s holdings include books that are over 450 years old and contemporary materials are constantly being added. The subjects covered range from the repair of clocks and watches to the philosophy of time and a small collection of fiction books whose stories revolve around clocks, watches, or horology. ![]() The library’s collection covers all aspects of horology and includes books and periodicals in numerous languages, including, among others, French, German, Japanese, Dutch, Latin, Swedish, Finnish, and Italian. ![]() The Fortunat Mueller-Maerki Library & Research Center is located at the National Watch and Clock Museum.
