Surely, that couldn't have affected the internal driver? Or was it because I updated to Windows 7 64 bit? The only big change I know from when I last used it (which was around 2016 to print some exam papers) is that I had to do a Hard disk transfer at AprilĢ016. The BIG question is how could such a thing happen the first place. To rub salt in the wound, I decided to plug in my PREVIOUS laptop, a Windows Vista and the printer proceeds to work perfectly if it wasn't for empty ink tanks. Lost it over the course of over a decade due not needing it at all for my current and previous laptop. There were some people that manage to succeed with this method, but they never elaborated. I even downloaded the update I needed thinking it would work and the manual install didn't detect it. Only driver updates were provided. The base isn't there. Model number is not listed in the Canon catalogue. I even resorted to emailing their support and they replied that they don't provide the service.Ģ. Install the printer using "Add a printer" I tore through the internet trying to find a solution and attempted all of the posted solutions. All of them failed:ġ. Install the driver from manufacturers site:Ĭanon no longer provides the base driver, only add-ons that most likely wouldn't work on it's own.
